About Me

I am a graduate of Houston Baptist University, now known as Houston Christian University. I received my Associate Degree in Nursing and began working in a Medical/Surgical unit in the hospital. While working on my nursing degree, I became a certified Health and Fitness instructor and taught many classes during the week. My nursing career has covered many different areas in the profession, including surgery, ER, CCU/ICU, cardiac, Urgent Care, Immunizations, and home health. I am also a graduate of Kaplan University, where I received my BS degree in Legal Studies and worked for a short time as a Legal Nurse Consultant. Nurses are taught to teach early on in their careers because it is vital they teach their patients how to take their medications, how to change their dressings, and many other topics. I am very passionate about teaching others, especially in the area of health and fitness, but I have fun as well, and have a very calm and laid-back teaching style. It's very important to me that students have fun, fully understand the subject, and enjoy learning. Education is vital to everyone, and I truly believe knowledge is power.
