About Me

My journey in Emergency Medical Services began way back in 2000. That was the year that I made a life changing decision and enrolled in "Medic School". In 2002, I completed my AAS in Emergency Medical Science and began working as a Paramedic at Guilford County Emergency Services in North Carolina. Throughout my 8 full time years in the field, I progressed from EMT to Paramedic, Senior Paramedic and eventually Field Training Officer. During this time, I also completed my BS in Emergency Medical Care at Western Carolina University. In 2010, I was offered a full time teaching position at my first Alma Mater. I continued to work in the field on a part time basis. During my six years at Guilford Technical Community College, I progressed from Instructor to Program Director and completed my MEd in Distance Education and Online Instruction at Liberty University. In 2016, our family decided to move to my husband's hometown in Ohio. Initially, I spent some time as a Transport Paramedic with Akron Children's Hospital. After making some contacts in the field, I moved back into a position in education with Lane LifeTrans Paramedics, while continuing to practice on a PRN basis. Since 2020, I have taken a step back from the field to focus on the care and development of our daughters, two of which were adopted in December 2023 after being in our care for three years. Today, our girls have made huge strides and I'm ready to jump back into the world of education and emergency medical care. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals.
