About Me

I am an honors college graduate from Penn State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biobehavioral Health with concentration of pre-medicine. I triple minored in Biology, Neuroscience, and Human Development and Family Studies, giving me a diverse perspective on biological topics. Throughout my college career I was very involved in a teaching assistant position. For three years, I worked closely with my anatomy and physiology professors and grew to teach my own anatomy and physiology laboratory courses to a class of 20-25 students ranging from freshman to seniors. I was responsible for delivering all lesson plans and lab activities that would allow student engagement and interaction within the classroom. I always assured to diversify my teaching strategies through visuals and mnemonics, as I am aware students learn in different ways. I would also hold study sessions and extra help meetings to further provide assistance in student learning. Additionally, I have tutored middle and high schoolers in the follow subjects: math, literature, history, English, Spanish, and science. I have prepared students for their exams and have guided them through their take home assignments. I also have prepared my own study materials to continue students' in their practices. Lastly, I volunteer with underprivileged children and assist in giving them weekly lessons during their summer camps. Lessons would include aspects of the environment and nature, along with basic government concepts. These children were ages 5-12. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the sciences! With my studies, I have been able to truly advance my knowledge in differing science concepts, where I have continuously been successful in relaying my expertise to other students. As I apply to medical school, I have cherished curiosity and education. I believe that learning is a gift and I feel beyond lucky to have the opportunity to be a learning resource, improving the knowledge of others and giving back to my community!
