About Me

I have over seven years of experience teaching or tutoring across various fields; my teaching experience comes from my time teaching dance, and I have tutored undergrad and graduate students in Biology (scientific writing), Korean, and English. I am most passionate about teaching Linguistics, Korean, and English Writing. My teaching style centers around student-led learning. My teaching philosophy is based on the belief that mastery of a topic only comes when you can explain it thoroughly to others. I do encourage students to complete pre-written exercises, but also to create their own example problems throughout the session to demonstrate their understanding of a concept as it's being taught. I believe my students are given an opportunity to absorb content faster (and in a way that encourages long-lasting mastery) because rather than relying on rigid pre-made lectures that do not accommodate the needs of students, I utilize flexible lesson plans based on the student's individual learning goals and challenges.
