I'm a pre-health student at the University of Pennsylvania, and have an extensive background in the sciences. I can also rock the SATs and MCAT, so I've got that going for me. I love learning with students and trying to make the tedious work of learning as fun as possible. I think and teach in examples and make abstract concepts easily understandable. I also love sports, adventures, travelling!

I am a recent PhD graduate of Cornell University where I conducted cancer and cell biology research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Before studying at Cornell in NYC, I obtained my Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University where I worked in a Tissue Engineering lab. As an undergraduate at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, I studied biological engineering while spending summers doing research for the Department of Defense. Ever since I was an undergrad, I've been a Teaching Assistant for courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As an engineer and a scientist, I am most passionate about tutoring all levels of biology and math, and I enjoy helping students preparing for the SATs or GREs. I know that these tests can be a little scary and intimidating, but it's my job to help you master the material and boost your confidence. Aside from tutoring, I love to read and cook; I am also an endurance athlete -- I hung up my basketball shoes once I realized there was no hope for me in the WNBA, and instead focused my energy on training and competing in marathons and yes, even the occasional ultramarathon! I love the mental and physical challenge, and know firsthand that this focus and drive definitely helps in the classroom.

I'm not teaching biology to undergraduate majors at ASU, I research topics in aquatic ecology. Understanding the connectedness and patterns of environmental processes in aquatic ecosystems drives my passion to become an ecologist!

I'm tutoring to ask clarifying questions . I really enjoy taking seemingly difficult topics and explaining them in a logical fashion while emphasizing the basics every step of the way. I find that students' frustration with a concept generally stems from uncertainty regarding how to organize many intersecting ideas. Nothing makes me more proud then watching a student master a formerly daunting topic.

I am currently working in a research lab at UTHealth and am excited to get back into tutoring. I want to help students succeed academically and am up for the challenge. Plus, it's a gratifying experience that will refine my knowledge on the subject.

I am a fourth year student at Harvard Medical School, and will start working as a pediatrician in July of 2016. However, if I had not decided to become a physician, I would have strongly considered becoming a teacher. Teaching is one of the most enjoyable activities I do, and I have taught in some capacity every year for the past ten years. I have taught subjects ranging from English to algebra, from physics to dance, and have taught students ranging in age from toddlers to adults. I have also provided advice on application essays, resumes, and interview strategies for Harvard College students applying to highly competitive scholarships. Each of these experiences has taught me how to communicate concepts in clear and engaging ways. For instance, while tutoring adolescents enrolled in the Boston-based Artists for Humanity program, I would often teach students whom I had never worked with before, and thus became adept at quickly discovering and implementing the strategies that worked best for a particular student (e.g., visual/tactile examples, analogies, and breaking down complex problems into smaller parts). While tutoring a janitorial staff member in preparation for the mathematics portion of her GED high school equivalency exam, I learned how to quickly identify the highest yield topics for a standardized exam and focus our efforts on those. Each of these experiences has been incredibly rewarding, and has inspired me to teach in some capacity throughout my career as a doctor.

I am a pre-Occupational Therapy student majoring in psychology with minors in neuroscience and art. I will be graduating with honors from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in May, and I will begin Washington University School of Medicine's Doctorate of Occupational Therapy Program this Fall. My academic pursuits have made me confident in my abilities to tutor those pursing degrees in social sciences along with those pursuing careers in health care. Currently my favorite subject is neuroscience. I fell in love with it after I started college and I plan on specializing in neurorehabilitionation as an occupational therapist.

I am a graduate of SUNY University at Albany. I received my Bachelor of Science in Economics and Japanese with a minor in History in 2010. Since then (and even before as a sub) I have predominantly been teaching in the New York City public education system. I had worked as a substitute teaching assistant since 2008, moving between dozens of NYC public schools before finally settling in late 2011 at M.S. 216 George J. Ryan--an incredibly diverse middle school in Queens. During my tenure in the school system I have spent time teaching students from Pre-K to 12th grade, from all cultural background and socioeconomic statuses. Regardless of whom I have taught, I have always enjoyed it, partly because I often learn as much from my students as they learn from me. Regardless of the subject, I love teaching, and I find it to be one of the most rewarding and meaningful activities, which cliched as it may sound, really can make a difference in people's lives. Besides teaching, I am also keenly interested in the human body, specifically biomechanics, kinesiology, and rehabilitation through movement. I am currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Washington University in St. Louis, which I should finish in 2018.

I am a rising senior at Duke University in Durham, NC. When not passing my time sleeping outdoors waiting for assorted basketball tickets as a "Cameron Crazie," I study Evolutionary Anthropology with fortunate access to Duke's fascinating lemurs and primates. My aspiration since my matriculation at college has been to pursue medicine, and I have just recently finished piecing together my application for medical school. Naturally, having just finished studying for the MCAT, I have a particular expertise in science of all kinds ranging from Biology and Chemistry to Physics. However, having also taken many AP courses in high school, I have a thorough working knowledge in English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Spanish, and Psychology. I have tutored all throughout high school and also have previous experience working with Mad Science of Long Island teaching general concepts in science to younger students of ages between 5-12 years old. In my free time, I am an avid soccer player and music fanatic (particularly alternative/independent rock). I am about to graduate from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Previously I received my MD degree from Suez Canal University.
