I am a graduate of MIT. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with minors in Management Science and Ancient and Medieval Studies. Since graduation, I have started my PhD at Georgia Tech in Operations Research. Throughout my career I have TA'd several math and computer science courses at the college level. I have also taught at summer programs for gifted middle school and high school students. I am passionate about tutoring kids in math and science because I think that a strong foundation in STEM at an early age can set the tone for their future. In my spare time I like to engage in athletics, and was a Division 1 rower in college.

I am a former middle school science teacher and science curriculum chair in Philadelphia. I recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master's degree in Education. In undergraduate, I graduated with honors in history and Russian language studies. I am also a Teach For America corps member alumnus. Right now I am the Learning and Development Coordinator for Impark USA. I enjoy teaching and love to work with others to overcome their academic challenges.
I am a dedicated, highly motivated individual with a passion for enhancing the learning experiences of others. I have taught as a classroom teacher and as a volunteer at state and national parks for the past few years. I focus particularly on highlighting connections between various subject matter to individuals' everyday lives. After I graduated with my Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2014, I moved to New Mexico to pursue a career in environmental conservation. I currently work as a supervisor for an AmeriCorps program that provides opportunities for young adults to gain skills working in the field of conservation while also receiving training for personal and professional development. I aspire to become a ranger with the National Park Service and a freelance writer.
I am a rising third-year student at Trinity College Dublin, and I am working towards a degree in English Literature. I have a lot of practical test-taking and study skills to offer, particularly in high school and middle school academics and standardized testing! I also consider myself a well-rounded student, so though my passion lies in English and writing, I love to teach math, science, and history subjects as well!
I'm working towards my PhD in Marine Science at Stony Brook University (NY), doing research in the field of marine biogeochemistry. That's a bit of a mouthful, but basically it means I study the way living things interact with the chemistry of the ocean, and how that interaction gets recorded in mud and rock. Based on this expertise, I enjoy tutoring in general science, chemistry, and earth science.
I am patient and collaborative. I work with my students to help them come to the answers on their own, and I find creative and fun ways for students to think about the material in a new light.
I am an avid rower and bicyclist. I also greatly enjoy growing vegetables and playing basketball.
I am experienced in tutoring math, science, English, and the environmental sciences, but my favorite subjects to tutor are beginner's Chinese, reading and writing skills, and essay writing and revision. Over the years, I've seen that every student has an individual, personalized learning style, and I strongly believe it is important for tutors to match their teaching styles to the student. The qualities I'll bring into every session with my students are patience, commitment, and persistence, with an eye for a comprehensive mastery of all aspects to the material.
I am a 2019 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where I received a dual degree BFA in Vocal Performance and BA in Creative Writing. I also achieved a GPA of 3.92, 3 semesters on the Dean's List, induction into Phi Beta Kappa as well as Sigma Tau Delta (the English honors society) and Pi Kappa Lambda (the Music honors society), Carnegie Mellon University Honors, and Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences Honors. I graduated Bloomfield Hills High School with a 3.96 GPA in 2015, and was a National Merit Finalist as well as a Presidential Scholarship candidate, thanks to my top test scores.
I'm a junior at Washington University in St. Louis studying English literature and international and area studies. My specialties are reading comprehension, writing, grammar, Spanish language, politics, and history, though I also enjoy chemistry/earth sciences and math up to Calculus 2! I can't wait to work with you!
I'm a student at Dartmouth College majoring in Biology modified with Engineering, and I'm minoring in Human Centered Design. I love nature and all things STEM, and my friends know me for having endless fun facts about the natural world. I'm on the women's rugby team and a member of the Dartmouth Humanitarian Engineering club, and I love to hike, bike, and snowboard in my free time.
I'm a passionate explorer, educator, and scientist. I am a Planetary Science Researcher (PhD, 2008). I write grants to NASA to use spacecraft data to study the composition and evolution of rocky planetary bodies (Moon, Mercury, asteroids). My research is broad and interdisciplinary that equips me to tutor many subjects and also to show students connections between subjects when it improves subject mastery. I have been teaching and tutoring for over twenty years, at every level of my education and career. In high school I taught aerospace education and aviation search and rescue while I earned my pilot's license. As an undergraduate at Duke I tutored athletes in Geology, Calculus, and Electrical Engineering core courses and I was a teaching assistant for Computer Science and Linear Circuits Laboratory. In graduate school I was a teaching assistant in geology. And as a professor, I've taught undergraduate and graduate science courses at a major U.S. research university. Most recently I designed a combined English and Engineering elective to students with limited English Proficiency at a small university in Colombia.
I am currently conducting multi-hazard risk assessment for Washington state coastal regions with the Department of Natural Resources.

I am a graduate of Faculty of Pharmacy. I received my Bachelor of Pharmaceutical sciences. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, tutoring students for more than 13 years. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Science, Math and Arabic. I have reached both elementary and older students. In my experience helping struggling students for tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements). I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students.
I am a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am working towards a BFA in Dance and Choreography with minors in Political Science and Psychology. I have served as a TA for a freshman honors writing course at VCU since Fall 2018. I have also assisted and taught children's dance classes. I enjoy babysitting and helping my younger sister with her homework. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math, Science, and Psychology. I completed my undergraduate work at Brandeis University and received a B.S. in Biology, and B.A. in International & Global Studies. I conducted my graduate studies at Fordham University and received an M.S. in Secondary Science Education. I am a patient teacher who can explain problems in many different ways according to how individual students learn best. I only ask that you know and explain to me what topics you do not know or get so far. I know that every student can learn a subject with a combination of practice and patience, but I insist upon consistent effort and sessions. As an educator I do not support last minute cramming as the primary learning method of content for students as it does not lead to retention of material, mastery of larger themes, or the ability to differentiate between subtle differences when problem-solving on tests and exams. I will help my clients when they need extra sessions before Final Exams and AP Exams, but those who have been working the hardest throughout the school year to regularly improve will get preference over those students who are panicked at the last minute, but have put off meeting with me.
I am a rising junior at Brown University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a focus on Sustainability in Development. I graduated from West Islip High School as class valedictorian in 2013. My tutoring career began on a mission trip to El Salvador in which I tutored children from different villages in English and Math. Since then I have been a peer tutor for all four years of my high school career, tutoring all subjects. I went on to do a community outreach tutoring program for children in the community of Providence, Rhode Island near my university. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my favorite subjects to tutor are Math, Spanish, Environmental and Earth Science, and Biology. I'm passionate about helping students because I've seen many have that "a-ha moment" while tutoring, and I know how important those moments are to their understanding and learning. I want to help more students find those moments of clarity in whatever subject they are struggling in so that they can have more confidence in their abilities and succeed. My tutoring philosophy is to give students the skills and tools they need to understand and learn without telling them how to do everything. I teach students to practice to perfection, which involves re-doing problems until they get it right the first time, which demonstrates complete understanding. My tutoring style is characterized by patience and I'm very attentive, making sure they are truly understanding when I ask the question, "does that make sense?"
I am an incoming graduate student at Harvard University in Earth and Planetary Sciences. I did my undergraduate at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). I study geology, though I have a great amount of experience teaching and learning all STEM fields. Currently, I am starting my graduate school research early at Harvard. While I tutor many subjects, I am most passionate about Earth Science and writing. I find learning fun and interesting, especially if it is approached in ways that are tangible for students and involve thinking outside of the classroom. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, writing, fitness (I compete in powerlifting), and spending time with my cats.
