I'm comfortable tutoring on a number of subjects, I particularly enjoy teaching English, writing, and critical reading. I like working one on one with students, helping them to think through problems, formulate opinions, and articulate their thoughts. This involves working on vocabulary, grammar, and writing mechanics. These are invaluable skills, essential for writing essays and preparing for Standardized Tests, like the SAT.

I am a graduate of Brown University, where I earned my B.A. in Literary Arts and Visual Arts, taking courses in a wide array of subjects ranging from contemporary American fiction to ancient Indian classics. My first teaching experience came in college when I had the privilege of creating and teaching a series of literature courses at a local community center. There are few experiences I find more enriching than facilitating a meaningful dialogue centered around great works of literature and art. While literature and art are my passion, I also tutor in variety of other subjects, including math, science, and test preparation. I currently work as a lead teacher in the after-school program at Archway Classical Academy in Phoenix.

I left Pittsburgh to attend the University of Chicago, from which I graduated in 2013. I stayed in Chicago to teach at the college level for 2.5 years, before returning to the Pittsburgh area. Underlying my academic experience is my passion for education. I am a first-generation college graduate (or as I like to call it, an "academic immigrant"). This means that I've learned on my own, and often the hard way, about the ins and outs of higher education, so I can understand how challenging - and truly rewarding - it can be. I am a current graduate student at Columbia University in the City of New York. Tutoring since high school, I have worked with students ages 11-22 (from middle school through college) in subjects as varied as math, organizational skills, PRAXIS prep, and of course, biochemistry! Additionally, I am well-versed in GRE, SAT, ACT, and AP exam coaching. Outside of the classroom, I have and continue to work in biochemical laboratories, play viola in an orchestra, and cross-country hike. I am a junior at Vanderbilt University studying Child Development and Art History, and I have always had a passion for tutoring and mentorship. Although most of my tutoring experience has been for elementary students in reading and math, I am most excited about tutoring middle and high schoolers because the subjects that are learned during these times are so much more detailed, dynamic, and interesting! I am a recent graduate of Cornell University with a bachelors degree in both English and History and am currently pursuing my Masters degree in History at the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently a senior at the Stern School of Business at NYU, graduating this semester. I am majoring in Management and Finance with a minor in History. Professionally I aligned to Strategy Consulting overall, but have numerous interests in M&A, Private Equity, and Venture Capital. I'm a educator and visual artist with many years of experience teaching and tutoring high school and college students. I have a BA in Political Science from New College of Florida and a MFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. While I'm a photographer by trade, I also have a passion for and expertise in Math and the Natural Sciences -- as well as French and Spanish, having studied and worked in both Paris and Central America. While I'm proficient now, I struggled with both languages early on, and understand the challenges of both starting a new language and in moving from a conversational to a more proficient level.
