I'm a recent graduate of the California Institute of Technology in Economics and Computer Science. I was also accepted at Harvard, Princeton, MIT, and Stanford. I have a broad range of interests spanning science, math, engineering, social science, the humanities, the arts, and athletics (I also played on the Caltech basketball team). My background allows me to tutor general college prep, especially the SAT, ACT and the GRE. I love to teach analytical thinking, ranging from advanced Math and Physics to strategies for understanding literature and developing arguments.

I am a graduate of Harvard University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies with a focus in food policy and law. During my undergraduate studies I spent my time in political organizations and in research, teaching fellowships on political philosophy at Harvard Effective Altruism and serving as a Visiting Researcher in food policy at the University of Cambridge. After graduating, I spent time as a researcher in political science and history and mentored students working towards attending top schools in the US and UK, providing one-on-one help with applications and developing seminars on topics like Sociology and English. Most recently, I have started a non-profit organization in Ecuador focused on educating families about healthy cooking and providing nutritional assistance. At the same time, I am excited to continue pursuing my passion for teaching and helping students navigate subjects like History, English Literature, ESL, Spanish, and Standardized Tests like the ACT, AP, and IB tests. I believe that the knowledge young people receive in primary and secondary education is the ultimate individual enrichment; an essential part of understanding who they are and a key to seeing who they may become. In my spare time, I walk, read history books like Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team of Rivals, and listen to music like Led Zeppelin and Lana del Rey.

I am a student at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, though I'm originally from upstate New York, right outside of Albany (which is actually the capital of New York, NOT New York City). I genuinely have a love for learning and more than just helping students with certain subjects they may be having trouble with, I hope to inspire a hunger for knowledge in students.

I am an undergraduate student at Yale University. I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology along with a certificate of advanced language in Spanish. I currently do research studying changes in stem cells and gene expression during different planarian physiological processes. I am extremely interested in biochemical and biophysical processes, closely tied to my interest in STEM courses and education. I have the most experience tutoring math, science, and Spanish, using my personal and current education with feedback from previous students to refine my approach. In high school I started a student success center during covid to provide free online tutoring, providing tutors in all subjects during set hours of the week. I work hard to create a comfortable environment to reduce the stresses and pressures of tutoring, not only allowing me to enhance my student's education but do so in a way that is most suited to their learning styles. I have gone through the college application process recently and would love to share my knowledge of standardized testing (study tips, general questions, and subject-specific tutoring), college preparation, and the application process. Outside of the classroom, I dance for Sabrosura (Yale's Premier Latin Dance team), explore what borders campus on walks and hikes, and love trying new foods and experiences.

I'm a recent college graduate from the University of Chicago and young professional based in Washington, DC, and currently working in international development. I have substitute taught STEM and English to all levels of college-preparatory high schoolers. I also established a peer-to-peer tutoring and mentoring program at my former high school and developed curricula centered around standardized test preparation and college admissions. In college, I coordinated outreach to promising underrepresented minority students, developing and implementing seminars designed to guide them through the admissions process for top universities, bolster their chances of success, and connect them with resources aimed at increasing access and affordability. Among other things, I have a strong background and experience in various types of academic and professional writing. I am a rising senior at Duke University majoring in Psychology and minoring in English. I first started tutoring when I was 10; I'd explain new words in books to my little sister and help her with cursive, work on times tables with my older brother, and teach the little bit of English I knew to my immigrant parents. I tutored students in my middle school through a counseling program, helped deaf and disabled students develop social and creative skills, and freelance tutored throughout high school, and have tutored Spanish-speaking immigrant families (ages 6-12) in Durham, NC since October 2018. Other teaching experiences include training my dog to go down a slide on command and teaching my 10th-grade precalculus teacher how to hand whistle. Though I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Writing. I believe reading and writing are not only complex forms of thinking, but avenues for understanding someone else's unique perspective and ways of being in life. I have the most fun helping my students dissect arguments and meaning from texts, especially when it's in Spanish, my native language. When I'm not tutoring, I most likely am listening to music, playing board games with my family, or looking at cat videos online.

I'm a current student at Johns Hopkins University pursuing a bachelor's in both Neuroscience and Molecular & Cellular Biology. My favorite subjects to tutor are biology, chemistry, psychology, art history, and environmental science on both a high school and Advanced Placement level. Alongside those subjects, I am comfortable teaching middle school and lower level high school math and science, and I offer test preparation for both the SAT and ACT. Outside of academics, I like to train for memory sports, and my current goal is to set a Guinness World Record for memorizing the most decimal places of the irrational number phi. I am a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I received my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a focus in Cultural Anthropology and Minor in History. Prior to attending UCLA, I received an Associate of Arts in Communications Studies from Skyline College in San Bruno, California. In June 2018, after graduation from UCLA, I moved to Miami, Florida where I volunteered with the Americorps VISTA program, serving as the PeaceJam Coordinator at Miami Dade College. After my year of service, I stayed in Miami where I became a Middle School Language Arts teacher with Miami Dade County Public Schools. While I am an English teacher, and tutor a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about History, Sociology, and of course Cultural Anthropology. However, I love teaching Language Arts as I believe literacy and teaching students to express themselves through written communication is imperative to success in the competitive academic and professional context they are entering. One responsibility I was given this year is helping my middle school students at Horace Mann Middle School prepare for the Florida State Assessment (FSA). In my experience helping struggling students prepare for this exam, we always seem to have the most fun dissecting prompts and excerpts while prepping for the reading and writing portions of the FSA. I am a firm proponent of education, especially in the humanities and social sciences believing these to be necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading novels, historical texts, or anything that pertains to interesting aspects of human culture. For fun, I enjoy traveling (both domestic and international), exploring Miami, and enjoying a nice cup of coffee.

I am currently a student at Rice University studying both History and Neuroscience. Being the oldest of five kids, working with younger students has always been a part of my life. I can tutor a wide variety of subjects, but I specialize in writing, public speaking, and test taking.
