Even when I was a student, I knew I wanted to help others learn. I love to see students understand a new concept and to grasp new skills. I teach with compassion and patience, and with the belief every student is capable of improvement.

I graduated with a BS in Human Biology from University of California, Merced back in 2012. Since then, I have worked in the health field as well as tutored and taught math and English for roughly 5 years. As of January 2018, I resumed school in an Accelerated Program for Nursing to obtain my RN degree, and hopefully within a year's time, will then be moving forward to pursuing a master's degree to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. As I am in school myself, I can relate to my students and understand how it is I would like to be taught material, and between that and the integral teaching aspect of nursing, I hope to help guide others with said material they need help in.

I am a first-generation American citizen and was raised with a strong appreciation for education and the opportunities it affords. I had an interest in STEM from a young age and eventually pursued a degree in Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh. Later, while working in R&D, I completed my MBA at Case Western Reserve University and then a certificate in Data Analytics from Cornell University. I now work for a scientific non-profit and am passionate about helping students with an interest in science and math. I believe STEM careers are vital to solving global problems and are the key to a brighter future for mankind. Of course, I also have an appreciate for the arts I play flute and piano and have tutored students in music. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, yoga, going for walks and spending time with my friends and family.

Ever since I was in elementary school, I have found passion and joy in the subject English. As a current Secondary English Education major, that passion has not wavered over the years! Having observed high school classes and assisted students in different areas, I found that I also enjoy spreading my knowledge on the subject whenever possible. To me, it is important that students feel competent and secure no matter what the assignment might be.I attained my general studies associates degree a week before I graduated with my high school diploma, accomplished through dual credit courses and dedication. I am expected to graduate from Indiana University in the spring of 2023. After that, I will begin my journey in the field as a professional english teacher!As a tutor, I value communication and dedication. I am a senior at the University of Miami with a double major in Biochemistry and Economics. I have a passion for dance and I am very friendly and look forward to working with you! I have over four years experience with tutoring, and this experience allowed me to work closely with children of all ages on various assignments. Since 2018, I've helped students through the Pathways to Graduation program achieve their High School Equivalency diploma by passing the TASC exam. My content focus for this exam has been English (reading and writing) and Social Studies. My teaching philosophy (especially when it comes to standardized tests) stems from my background in athletics. My whole life, I've competed, and what I've learned is this: the harder you practice, the easier the game will be. Regardless of the topic I teach, I aim to bring a variety of different examples and practice questions in order to see the topic from every angle - that way, by the time the test comes around, there's nothing that hasn't been seen before. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy running, reading, cooking, and watching stand-up specials or movies with friends.

I am a graduate of Valdosta State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While in college, I provided help for several students during my four years. I have helped students in grade school with Elementary Math, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics while volunteering at homeless shelters in Valdosta. I also provided free assistance to students and residents in various math courses such as College Algebra and Statistics through one-on-one sessions from student referrals by professors, classmates, and residents under my supervision. However, the subject that I am most passionate about within Math and love to tutor would be Algebra. As a student, I have experienced my share of ups and downs when it came to Algebra, but I continued to work through the difficulties and found ways to make learning more fun so that it no longer felt like work. This is what I hope to share and provide for all of my students, and maybe they too will begin to enjoy Math. While working with me, sessions will be tailored specifically to the students needs. I believe that in order to provide help, the sessions must remain organized. My sessions begin with identifying the issues and reviewing the lesson. Then we finish with practice problems because I believe that practice makes perfect, especially with Math. My goal is to ensure that the student is able to use the methods provided within their classes so they remain on track, and are able to build on the skills outside of the tutoring sessions. In my spare time, I enjoy studying for my Law School exam (LSAT), drawing, listening to music and podcasts, learning ways to invest, and video gaming.

I am a double major college student studying Nursing and Paralegal.I study languages for fun, and I have studied Japanese so I am very familiar with the sounds that are more difficult for Asian students to pronounce.I began tutoring last year. My first student was a very nice Chinese woman that needed help with her speaking and English comprehension. I have also spent most of my life assisting my younger cousins with their homework. I also have first hand experience with dyslexia and am eager to assist any students who are facing challenges in reading as a result of this!
