This year-long, entry-level class, designed forstudents having little or no previous bandexperience with woodwind, brass, and/orpercussion instruments,promotestheenjoyment and appreciation of music throughperformance of high-quality, beginning windand percussion literature from different timesand places. Rehearsals focus on thedevelopment of critical listening/aural skills;rudimentary instrumental technique and skills,music literacy, and ensemble skills; andaesthetic musical awareness culminating inperiodic public performances.
