A four-course sequence designed to provide authentic hands-on learning through career exploration. Students identify interests, review pathway options, and conduct research to select a specific career pathway for their remaining high school years. Includes Career exploration and secondary/postsecondary planning guidance through 3DE by Junior Achievement (JA).

Essential Question: Who Am I? Ninth-grade students explore their identity and place in the school community. Students analyze literary, informational, art, music, and media texts through writing, discussion, project-based learning, and service-learning. Focus on factors that shape public and private identities, how adversity and relationships influence them, and how journeys and ideas about others shape choices.

Essential Question: Where Have I Been? Students continue identity exploration by considering how personal and historical past has shaped them. Analysis of literary, informational, art, music, and media texts through writing, discussion, and service-learning. Focus on understanding place in the local community, what makes people same or different, what it takes to survive, how the past influences the present, and how to make a lasting impression.

Essential Question: Where Am I Going? Focus on future possibilities and global citizenship. Students analyze literary, informational, art, music, and media texts through writing, discussion, and service-learning. Explores whether individuals find or create their true selves, personal desires for life, the concept of justice, and how current actions affect the future.

Essential Question: What Does the World Expect of Me? Explores life beyond high school and expectations of the global community. Emphasis on deep analysis of complex texts and independent reading with self-generated research questions. Topics include determining what is worth effort, assessing when risks are worth taking, importance of facing reality, and individual autonomy.

Focuses on solving, writing, and interpreting linear equations and inequalities; function notation, domain and range, and comparing linear and exponential functions; systems of equations and inequalities; using regression techniques and residuals to describe linear relationships; and creating and solving quadratic and exponential expressions and functions.

Focuses on triangle congruence and formal proof; similarity, right triangle trigonometry, and properties of polygons; area and volume formulas for two- and three-dimensional objects; using the rectangular coordinate system to verify geometric relationships; proving theorems about circles and their segments; and computing theoretical and experimental probabilities for compound events.

Focuses on polynomial arithmetic, identifying zeros, and connecting rational expressions to the rules of rational numbers; synthesizing function families, including exponential equations with logarithms and the effects of transformations on graphs; and relating summary statistics to data types and probability distributions, including the role of randomness in data collection.

Advanced mathematics course covering topics in preparation for calculus, including trigonometry, functions, and analytical geometry.

Personalized mathematics credit aligned with student's Individual Learning Plan (ILP). May include various math electives or career pathway math courses.

Develops understanding of forces on objects, their interactions and Newton's Second Law. Covers momentum conservation, gravitational and electrostatic forces, energy transfer and conservation. Studies waves, their properties, and technological uses. Explains light spectra as evidence for Big Bang Theory and expanding universe. Covers relationships among thermal convection, plate tectonics, and Earth's features.

Develops understanding of atomic substructure and properties of substances. Covers chemical reactions including rates and energy changes, molecular collisions, and atomic rearrangement. Mathematical understanding that mass is conserved in chemical reactions. Uses periodic table to explain element properties. Covers nuclear fission, fusion, and radioactive decay. Explains Big Bang Theory and stellar element production. Covers carbon cycle through hydrosphere, atmosphere, geosphere, and biosphere.
