Year/Semester In this expanded course, students deepen their exploration of contemporary music through performance, composition, and digital production. Building on prior experience, students study the evolution of popular music—from early rock and blues to modern pop, hip-hop, and electronic genres—while examining influential artists, cultural movements, and industry trends. Using Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), students engage in hands-on recording, sequencing, and mixing, applying music theory to create original compositions and experiment with virtual instruments and effects. Through ensemble and solo performance, critical listening, and collaborative projects, students enhance their musical literacy, creativity, and technical skills. This course fosters personal expression, cultural awareness, and prepares students for high school music study.
