South Carroll High – Hvac: Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

This course is designed to give students basic knowledge and skill in the development of the principles and practices of the air conditioning and refrigeration trade. This course will include the following: sizing equipment, duct layout, installation, repair and maintenance of oil, gas, electric and heat pump forced-air heating systems. Also, residential and commercial air conditioning, and light commercial refrigeration units are included. Students will learn the proper use and care of tools, parts, and test equipment, and how to analyze, adjust, troubleshoot, and test such systems. Related study will include math, measuring instruments, blueprint reading, basic electricity, motors, and instruction to trade occupations.
