This honors level course is designed to extend artistic concepts introduced in Art I through additional studio experiences. This course stresses the development of student as artist through artistic skill and knowledge, and the application to a student’s own artwork and personal exploration. This course will reference artists and exemplars of Art I with newly presented artists, works, and the people and cultures that produced them for in-depth study. Experiences in drawing, printmaking, painting, design, and three-dimensional art will be offered. Emphasis is placed on artistic voice, personal expression, and building student capacity toward developing artistic opinions and the ability to respond to those opinions.
