American Sign Language (ASL) 1: History and culture of the Deaf community will be examined along with the history of American Sign Language. The structure of the hearing mechanism and the types and causes of hearing loss will be discussed. Students will learn the manual alphabet, manual counting to 100, and the first 100 signs.

Grades: Priority placement for ASL 1 is given to 10th grade students
