Secondary Virtual School – Dance Technique I

One trimester = 0.5 credit | Major outcomes: ; Students will develop their strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and memory in relationship to a variety of dance styles.; Students will learn basic technique of a variety of dance styles including jazz, musical theater, ballet and contemporary; Students will develop performance skills needed to confidently create and present dance choreography; Students will grow in their abilities to work as both a soloist as well as part of an ensemble | Instructional focus: This course focuses on developing a body of work to be performed at end-of-trimester dance concerts. This course partially satisfies the arts requirement. Dance Technique II [AHS only] Prerequisite/Selection process: Dance Technique I OR at least 3 years of dance training
