They will critically examine systems of power that affect themselves and their communities. Every unit culminates with an opportunity for students to reflect on and then share their learning. Adaptations, modifications and access to assistive technologies will be available based on the assessed needs of individual students and may incorporate the functional application of English Language Arts skills that include community based components to promote generalization of skills and independence.
