This course provides instruction and practice in reading, writing, speaking, listening, thinking, and presenting. Students will read and write in multiple genres throughout the course. The development of critical reading and writing skills is emphasized.

This course provides instruction and practice in reading, writing, speaking, listening, thinking, and presenting.  Advanced coursework includes significant reading and writing practice, critical thinking and analysis, inquiry, and peer collaboration and discussion. The course prepares students for entry into the AP or IB courses in the junior and senior years.

This course develops an understanding of English and provides explicit instruction for developing English language acquisition skills. Students engage in numerous activities that build on their prior knowledge and skills to strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.  ESOL I may be substituted for English I. ESOL II may be Substituted for English II This course targets beginner and intermediate students, as determined by the LPAC Committee.

Writing composition activities emphasize grammar, conventions, usage, editing, revising, and spelling. (ARD Committee placement)
