Roosevelt High School – Choir: Intermediate - Mixed

Students in this intermediate-level, year-long ensemble are vocal musicians who perform standard and contemporary choral literature throughout the year at school concerts, community events, and festivals. This course emphasizes ensemble fundamentals, diverse soprano, alto, tenor, and bass (SATB) choral literature, sight-reading, music theory, and extended vocal techniques. Opportunities for differentiation and extension include performance as a soloist and/or in small ensembles. Students will develop the necessary skills that prepare them for auditions into advanced level choirs and honor ensembles.
Prerequisites: Instructor approval. Can be repeated for credit. Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
