Must be in the P-TECH program \*Enrolled in P-TECH WHS, TSI Ready in English and Math, and successfully completed COSC 1436 Grades: 10, 11, 12 Emphasizes medical office coding procedures for payment and reimbursement by patients or thirdparty payers for ambulatory care settings. \*Must be in the P-TECH program at HHS 1 credit / 1 Semester / Grades: 10, 11, 12 A study and practical application of a medical vocabulary system. Includes structure, recognition, analysis, definition, spelling, pronunciation, and a combination of medical terms from prefixes, suffixes, roots, and combining forms. \*Must be in the P-TECH program at HHS, and be TSI ready 2 credits / Full year course / Grades: 11, 12 Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, college, and student. Students must accrue 350 to 400 hours each year to be on track to accumulate the 1000 hours required by the end of Cosmetology II. Students will be expected to participate in activities outside the regular school day to gain additional opportunities to practice skills and earn hours. \*Must be a James Reese Technical Center student 1 credit / 1 Semester / Grades: 11, 12 Emphasis on patient-centered assessment, examination, and treatment as directed by the physician. Includes vital signs, collection and documentation of patient information, asepsis, office clinical procedures, and other treatments as appropriate for the ambulatory care settings. Must be in the P-TECH program at HHS, and be TSI ready. Instruction in concepts and application of pharmacological principles. Focuses on drug classifications, principles and procedures of medication administration, mathematical systems and conversions, calculation of drug problems, and medico-legal responsibilities of the medical assistant. Must be in the P-TECH program at HHS, and be TSI ready 1 credits / 1 Semester / Grades: 11, 12 Students are introduced to the fundamental concepts of structured programming and provided a comprehensive introduction to programming for computer science and technology majors. Topics include software development methodology, data types, control structures, functions, arrays, and the mechanics of running, testing, and debugging. This course assumes computer literacy. Must be in the P-TECH program at WHS, and be TSI ready 1 credit / 1 Semester / Grades: 10, 11, 12 This course focuses on the objectoriented programming paradigm, emphasizing the definition and use of classes along with the fundamentals of object-oriented design. The course includes basic analysis of algorithms, searching and sorting techniques, and an introduction to software engineering processes. Students will apply techniques for testing and debugging software. Must be in the P-TECH program at WHS, and be TSI ready Introduces the fundamental concepts of structured programming and provides a comprehensive introduction to programming for computer science and technology majors.
