Ralston Valley Senior High School – Foundations of Theatre Arts/THE1005 Theatre Appreciation

In Foundations Theatre Arts, students are introduced to the variety of programs and occupations in the arts, audio/video technology, and production. Within this context, students will be expected to develop an understanding of the various and multifaceted career opportunities in this cluster and the knowledge, skills, and educational requirements for those opportunities.<br>This is an introductory course that  provides students with an overview of the art of theatre including  both acting AND technical theatre. Topics of instruction will include  improv, short scenes, basic light and soundboard operation, basic set  construction and scenic painting. This course provides students the  opportunity to appreciate the spectrum of roles that go into the art of  theatre and allows them the opportunity to choose their area of most  interest. If interested in theatre, no matter your previous experience,  this is the place to start.
