Ralston Valley Senior High School – Study Skills

Study Skills courses prepare students for success in high school and/or for postsecondary education. Course topics may vary according to the students involved, but typically include reading improvement skills, such as scanning, note-taking, and outlining; library and research skills; listening and note-taking; vocabulary skills; and test-taking skills. The courses may also include exercises designed to generate organized, logical thinking and writing. ­­­­­­­­­­­­­The content of this course has been substantially modified for students with individual learning plans. While the course aligns with Jeffco’s curriculum in general, it may not address many of the essential learnings listed in the curriculum of a non-modified course. Parents and students are advised to discuss with school personnel how this course may impact post-secondary options.
