Ponderosa High School – CTE Principles of Engineering Technology

This course is a year-long class designed to open the door on engineering foundations and their application to the real world using a Project Based Learning structure. Topics of study may include, but are not limited to, engineering analysis, testing, physics, planning and design, digital manufacturing design and fabrication, intelligent systems bio robotics, dynamic logic and sensory imaging, and aerospace rocketry-aerodynamic engineering. Students will work in small teams to compete against classmates with their projects. Students will use the 12 - step engineering design process to develop their projects. Principles of Engineering and Technology is designed to introduce students to the STEM cluster for students interested in learning more about careers in engineering and technology. This course covers basic skills required for engineering and technology fields of study. Upon completion of this course, students are able to identify and explain the steps in the engineering design process.
