This course is designed for high school students at the intermediate level who express a dedication to drawing and painting and have a commitment to improving their skills in fine arts. Students will work figuratively and conceptually to develop an individual style as they are introduced to the media of drawing, painting, charcoal, graphite, acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media. They will refine their studio skills alongside introductory presentations on the elements of art, principles of design, color theory, art history, line quality, aesthetics, mark-making, representation, abstraction, figure drawing, and much more. Please note that this course requires additional materials to be purchased by the student. Required course materials are outlined in a separate document.
