Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
AP Seminar is a foundational course in the College Board's AP Capstone program designed to develop students' skills in research, analysis, evidence-based argumentation, and collaboration. The course emphasizes critical thinking and inquiry through the exploration of real-world issues from multiple perspectives. Following College Board's framework, students will: Investigate complex topics by reading, analyzing, and synthesizing information from a wide variety of sources, including scholarly articles, literary works, speeches, data sets, and multimedia. Learn to identify credible evidence, evaluate reasoning, and detect bias in order to construct well-supported arguments. Engage in both individual and team research projects, developing written essays and multimedia presentations to communicate their findings effectively. Practice and refine their academic writing, public speaking, and peer collaboration skills in preparation for college-level work. By the end of the course, students will have built a strong foundation in the skills assessed on the AP Seminar Performance Tasks and End-of-Course Exam, while cultivating the intellectual curiosity and academic discipline necessary for success in AP Research and other advanced studies.
