Pinecrest Preparatory Academy Charter High School – Theatre
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
The Theatre course is designed to offer students other ways to express themselves as a social being. The possibilities of theatrical languages are multiple, so that each student will be able to exploit their creative potential to the fullest. One of the main objectives of this program is to create a safe space for the adolescent in training to explore himself and his group, which is why it equips him with a solid emotional arsenal for work in diverse collective environments. The main skills that each student will develop have to do with creative imagination, senses, physical coordination and muscle strengthening, concentration and memorization, reading, creative experimentation, among others. This year, our program explores the art of Puppet and Figure Theatre as a multidisciplinary field that integrates acting, design, and dramaturgy. Students will learn foundational theatre concepts while engaging in hands-on creative projects that build skills in puppet construction, animation, and storytelling. The curriculum promotes collaboration, creativity, and performance literacy aligned with the Florida State Standards for Theatre.
