IB German SL focuses on communicating accurately and effectively in speech and writing as well as reading and listening to a variety of authentic German audios. Instruction is in German. Organized around five core themes: Identities, Experiences, Human Ingenuity, Social Organization, and How We Share the Planet, with a focus on discussing world problems. Students will write a variety of texts, including but not limited to formal and informal letters, reviews, and blogs. Students will learn skills needed for the International Baccalaureate Exam at the Standard Level and to communicate in German at a high level. This is a college-level course and students are expected to take the IB German exam during the May testing cycle.
