Pat Dillard Special Achievement Center – Technical Theatre II
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
Technical Theatre is a lecture and laboratory course exploring all technical aspects of play production. Areas of study include history, concepts, theories and application of scenic design, construction, lighting, sound, costumes, make-up, properties, etc. Other units of study include the responsibilities of technical production staff and careers. Theatre safety will also be taught in each unit. As an advanced course, students are required to exercise self-discipline, assume responsibility for performance and work on an independent level, and are involved in the theatrical productions. Because less structure is imposed, the students are expected to work at a higher level of proficiency and independence. Students will be required to work as technical crew members for after school theatrical productions.
