Personal Financial Literacy and Economics emphasizes the economic way of thinking, which serves as a framework for Personal Financial Literacy and Economics continued… students to apply throughout the course. Students will understand the fundamental concepts of economics such as scarcity, supply and demand as well as macroeconomic issues such as market systems and fiscal and monetary policy. Students will investigate how economic factors affect the present and future financial landscape for individuals with regards to entrepreneurship, post-secondary education/training decisions, as well as the factors that influence wages, spending, borrowing and investing. Students may not be awarded credit for both this course and the Personal Financial Literacy elective course.
