This course focuses on developing students’ understanding of European history from approximately 1450 to the present. Students will investigate significant events, individuals, developments, and processes in four historical periods by analyzing primary and secondary sources and making historical comparisons across seven themes: economic and commercial developments, cultural and intellectual developments, states and other institutions of power, social AP European History continued… organization and development, national and European identity, and technological and scientific innovation. Students are encouraged to purchase an optional AP European History study guide for use in the course and to prepare for the AP exam. Students are expected to take the AP European History exam in May.
