Pat Dillard Special Achievement Center – IB Art SL Year 1 (Open Enrollment)

Students in IB Art/Design are required to research art through sketches, notes, online and traditional research methods. Students will create original pieces of artwork throughout the year. Students will be expected to prepare an art exhibit reflecting their own particular view of art, personal art portfolio, research sketchbook/journal log, and write extensive research papers based in art history, as prescribed by IB. Students may take IB art as a part of the IB diploma program or as a standalone certificate class. IB Art/Design is a sixth subject area choice for IB diploma candidates and tests at the Standard Level. Fees will apply for supplies, etc. needed for the course.Students are expected to take the IB SL Art exam in the spring.
Prerequisites: Art I or Art I Advanced or Art Portfolio review with instructor approval
