AP Chinese IV course content is structured around six specific themes (Global Challenges, Science and Technology, Contemporary Life, Personal and Public Identities, Families and Communities, Beauty and Aesthetics) to promote exploration of the language in context and to develop students’ understanding of the culture. AP Chinese IV focuses on advanced skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Special discussions will take place frequently based on current events and real-life situations. Students will read, interpret, and analyze representative short stories, plays, poetry, advertisements, and graphs. This is a college-level course, and students are expected to take the AP Chinese Language and Culture exam during the May.
