Overland High School – Peer Mentorship

This course allows typically developing students to mentor students who have moderate to significant disabilities in the life skills (Special Education) and/or an elective classroom. While assisting students, peer facilitators will learn how to engage with learners of all abilities, a variety of different methods of communication and teaching/learning styles, and how to respond to challenging behaviors. Candidates should have the desire to interact with and provide a positive role model for a wide variety of students with learning and emotional needs.
