Overland High School – Symphonic Orchestra

Prerequisite: Spring audition and/ or teacher recommendation Course Length: 1 Year Credit: 1 Unit The Overland Symphony is open to experienced string students by audition only. Students are expected to practice their instruments regularly and are encouraged to study privately with a qualified instructor. This course will explore a variety of advanced orchestral literature representing various musical periods and styles. Students have an opportunity to refine their technique preparing them for college auditions and scholarship awards. This course may require rehearsal time outside of class. The Overland Symphony will have performances throughout the year; attendance at all performing events is mandatory. Students new to the Overland Symphony will also be expected to purchase concert attire. Music Materials Fee of $$ 20$ , School Instrument Rental Fee $$ 60$ (fundraising opportunities available)
