The AP English Language and Composition course focuses on rhetorical analysis of nonfiction texts and the development and revision of well-reasoned, evidence-centeredanalytic and argumentative writing. Additionally, students focus on personal writing,including a personal statement for college applications, and preparation for the SAT.

The AP English Literature and Composition course focuses on reading, analyzing, and writingabout imaginative literature (fiction, poetry, drama) from various periods. The course isorganized to prepare students for success on the AP Lit exam and in college English andcomposition courses.

Seniors willl explore performance texts from classic to contemporary, analyzing in writingand interpreting through original performance.

The primary goal of this course is to support freshman scholars in the development ofgrammar and writing skills essential for success in high school and college.

English 2 is a class designed to help sophomores increase their proficiency in grammarthrough reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The course focus is strictly buildinggrammar skills through mentor texts and group discussion. In writing and discussion,students willl manipulate text types and purposes, produce and develop clear, coherent,writing, as well as conduct and gather information from multiple sources.

Juniors willl undertake the grammar and writing standards being tested by the SAT,increasing vocabulary and focusing on author intent.

In this course, students willl build comprehension through rigorous fiction and nonfictiontexts while working on decoding and fluency. The main objective of the course is to increasestudent lexile scores in order to more easily access other course material.

Seniors willl explore performance texts from classic to contemporary, analyzing in writingand interpreting through original performance. Honors students willl write a one-act originalplay as a semester-long, independent project.

This course willl develop students' writing skills through their understanding of grammar,syntax, style, and structure. Students willl read, imitate, analyze, and evaluate a wide rangeof text while focusing on broadening their domain knowledge.

This course willl support students in their reading, writing, and discussion skills as theyanalyze American literature.

This course willl develop student understanding of basic operations, number concepts and properties, expressions, equations, inequalities, functions, graphical representations, probability, statistics, data analysis, and polynomials.

With a chance to earn college credit, students in AP Calculus willl explore functions, graphs, limits, derivatives, integrals, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Students willl become familiar with conepts expressed graphically, numerically, analytically, and verbally and use technology to help solve problems, experiment, interpret results, and support conclusions. Students should expect to complete at least 30 minutes of homework each night.
