Students typically work with several media (such as clay, ceramics, wood, metals, textiles, and so on), but at times may focus on only one medium. Particular attention is paid to the characteristics of the raw materials, their transformation under heat, and the various methods used to create and finish objects. At Northglenn High School, the Ceramics classes focus on effective techniques to work with and maintain their clay. We’ll work with a range of assignments from personal explorations of elements of pottery to completing jobs for actual clients.
