Academic elective used when regular course offerings insufficient to meet needs of most academically able and highly motivated students. School employees assist individual gifted students in securing mentors capable of guiding through rigorous course of study. Learning objectives developed jointly by student, mentor, gifted program personnel, department faculty, and curriculum staff. Must extend academic knowledge and skills beyond typical high school level. Requires individual student contract with specific learning goals, plan, final project, professional presentation, and evaluation criteria.

Prerequisites: Gifted Program students only; offered to Juniors and Seniors who are Gifted-Identified, High Achieving or Approved by Ms. Wren
