English 4 - Dual Credit English 1301/1302 is an intensive study of and practice in writing processes. Students earn three college credit hours per semester upon successful completion of this course in addition to satisfying the high school fourth English graduation credit requirement. College credit is provided by Houston Community College (HCC). HCC admissions requirements; TSI requirement

Students analyze the fictional and poetic elements of various literary texts while reading to appreciate the writer’s craft. Additionally, students discover how well-written literary texts can serve as models for their own writing. This course is specifically for students enrolled in Raines Academy. This course satisfies the 4th English credit requirement when taken along with successful completion of English 1, English 2, and English 3. Must be enrolled in Raines Academy.
