The Medical Academy is designed as an orientation to the health care cluster. The program was developed to enhance understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each major career area. In Outboard Marine Service 1, students will learn entry-level skills for the Outboard Marine Service Industry. Hands-on training combined with laboratory and classroom experiences gives the student a full understanding of workplace safety and organization, trailer service, various boat materials, 2-stroke cycle outboard engines, and fuel systems on boats.

The veterinary assistant is an integral member of the veterinary health care team. All veterinary assistants work under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian. A veterinary assistant is trained in many skills, including obtaining and recording patient histories, collecting specimens and performing laboratory procedures, restraining pets, sterilizing instruments, performing front-office duties, maintaining sanitary conditions in kennels and exam rooms, and providing basic grooming services such as nail clipping. Students who successfully complete all four courses will have the opportunity to take the Certified Veterinary Assistant exam (CVA) their senior year.
