Jazz Ensemble Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 1 credit Prerequisites: Audition and director approval Students perform a variety of traditional and popular jazz, investigating jazz theory, improvisation, performance techniques, styles, and literature, both individually and in the ensemble. Students may perform in concerts and performance assessments. After-school activities and practices are integral to the course, and grades may reflect such participation. The number of required non-school hour performances and practices during a school year may not exceed 25.
