1/2–1 credit Prerequisite: Health I This course is designed to develop skills for living healthy lifestyles among adolescents preparing to enter college and the world of work. The course is organized around the Health Education National Standards placing a greater emphasis on personal skills. Students will discuss and apply a variety of skills to everyday situations they may face. Skills include how to determine the validity of health resources and services, analyzing internal and external influences on personal health behaviors, verbal and nonverbal skills to develop and maintain healthy personal relationships, making healthy decisions, setting personal health goals, and advocating for personal, family and community health.
