This course is designed to introduce students to the world of music theatre arts. Exercises to build self-esteem, trust and empathy are integrated with the technical aspects of music and drama. Basic stage terms are taught, vocal and movement exercises as well as writing activities are incorporated. Students perform solo and ensemble repertoire in a variety of music styles and genres. Students learn the art as an audience member as well as a performer. The California Theatre Arts Content Standards are integrated into the curriculum
