Lincoln Park Technology and Trade Center – Heavy Equipment Operator Training

Teaches students how to identify equipment and perform basic operational techniques for earthmoving and construction projects using simulators and real-world exercises. Training includes core craft skills and safety procedures, heavy equipment identification, basic operational techniques and utility tractors, introduction to earthmoving and interpreting civil drawings, and simulator exercises covering excavator and wheeled loader equipment including basic controls, loading, unloading, excavating, and trenching.
Prerequisites: Can be taken as a stand-alone program or as an additional program following graduation from Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology or Heavy Equipment Service Technology. Not available to residents of Georgia or Wisconsin and not eligible for financial aid.
