Lincoln High School – Intro to Education 1-2 (CTE: Future Educator Program)

This course is required to complete the Educator Preparation CTE Program of Study Students will explore education as a career opportunity in a course that combines projects and real-world experiences through practicum work. Course activities will expose students to the history of public schools in the United States, teaching strategies and curriculum design, classroom management and social justice in education. Additionally students will participate in classroom observations and an internship from February - May. At their internship sites, students will work with children one-to-one, in small groups or with the whole group. In May, students will facilitate an activity for students at their internship site. Available for: PCC Dual Credit (Education 100) (3 credits) or elective credit (1 credit) Available to grades 9-12
