Lincoln High School – Computing Systems 3-4

Students join a FIRST Tech Challenge team and work together to design, build and code a robot to solve challenges.The teams will compete in 3-6 weekend tournaments during the season (October - March) and some Saturdays will be required.Students will work to solve problems as a team. All projects will have a writing and presentation component. This class may be taken more than once. Students will use CAD (Computer Aided Design) with Fusion 360 and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) with the Lincoln High School Maker Space to aid in their design / build process. Robots are coded using Java and Android Studio.
Prerequisites: Computing Systems 1-2 OR past participation with competitive robotics (FLL, FTC, FRC, etc.) OR teacher permission
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
