Lincoln High School – Avid 9

Welcome to high school! A new environment, harder classes and new teachers. AVID 9 supports students to understand the mechanics of how high school works and what is needed to be a successful Lincoln High School Cardinal. We answer questions like “How do you email your teachers in a professional manner?” “How do you take notes that will benefit you?” “How do you make lists prioritizing assignments for your classes?” And many more. A class strongly focused on community prioritizes connecting with peers as students and the teacher will be together for all four years of high school. Community circles, trust building and other tools are used. Students that the AVID program is designed for have a desire to succeed, a willingness to participate in the program for four years and may need some extra support and connection to get there.
