Lincoln High School – Educational Internship: EL/MS 3-4 (CTE: Future Educator Program)

This course is required to complete the Educator Preparation CTE Program of Study Students will explore education as a career opportunity in a course that combines projects and real-world experiences through practicum work. In this course, students will work alongside a certified school teacher in a local school (prek-8, may also work at LHS) while exploring the field of education or child development as a future profession. Students will work with children one-to-one, in small groups and with the whole group. They will write reflective papers and complete assignments related to the internship. Students will learn the ins and outs of lesson development and facilitate lessons and projects throughout the year with the support of their mentor teacher. Students will work at internship sites twice a week and meet with their cohort weekly beginning in quarter 2.
