Lincoln High School – Advanced Journalism (Broadcast Journalism) 5-6

In this advanced level course, students will take leadership (editor) roles as well as work on Cardinal Times media productions (videos/podcasts/multimedia short news packages) to be published on www.cardinaltimes.org and promoted using Cardinal Times social media. The class will focus on skills needed for in front of camera work as well as production (interviewing, writing, reporting, shooting/recording, designing, producing, and editing content.) Students will expand their understanding of the rights and responsibilities of student journalists as well as the legal and ethical aspects of media through on-the-job production. Students will work independently and collaboratively and may apply for leadership roles.
