Lincoln High School – Avid 11

AVID 11 is all about preparation, preparation, preparation. AVID 11 students are now upperclassmen, moving from having their AVID teacher do grade checks, to them doing their grade checks on their own. This continues on in other aspects where support was given in AVID 9 and 10, letting the 11th graders try those things on their own, knowing that if it does not go well, their AVID teacher will help them out. We focused hard in the second semester on planning summer and fall of the following year. What are the 11th graders’ plans for post high school? What needs to be done to complete those plans? What planning needs to occur? We also continue to support students in school through tutoring, after school study sessions and check ins. AVID is designed for students with a desire to succeed, a willingness to participate in the program and that may need a little extra support and connection for that success to happen!
