Liberty Sr High School – AR600A/B - AP Drawing & AP 2D Art

Advanced Placement 2D Art is a yearlong course that builds on the foundation of Studio Art 1, Studio Art 2 and Studio Art 3. AP 2D Art and Design is a course for the serious art student who is interested in an intensive investigation of art concepts, media and techniques after taking Visual Arts 1, 2, and 3. The focus of this class is to prepare students to meet the requirements of the College Board AP Studio Art Portfolio in 2D design through creating original art pieces. This class will offer students the opportunity to further master their skills in communicating concepts visually, developing their artistic voice, creating strong compositions and increasing techniques in various art media. This class is intended to give the serious art student an opportunity to advance their skills and complete a portfolio of artwork. The emphasis of this course is to prepare for the College Board Advanced Placement portfoliosubmission. Students will complete a portfolio by May of each year. Successful completion of assignments and participation are requirements for credit.
